Dawn Nelson

My name is Dawn Nelson.

I live in Jamaica Plain, MA and have my studio in North Adams, MA. I happily share my home with my cats and my housemate.

In 2014 I retired from a wonderful 30-year career as a middle school Art Teacher.

I grew up in the Midwest. My childhood homes were outside of Chicago, and in southern Wisconsin.

I have a B.F.A. from Illinois Wesleyan University, and a MEd from Lesley University.

I have been a working artist for my entire adult life.  Since retirement my artwork has moved into new directions taken on greater intensity.

I am very excited about the new directions I am taking.
